Every ingredient earns its place, including every essential oil. Ancient Egyptians used fragrant oils and resins in ointments, personal care and anointing preparations. Our modern aromatic botanicals likewise have roles beyond fragrance: research into their compounds explores antioxidant activity, skin comfort, surface-cleansing properties and pathways relevant to skin aging. Each is chosen individually for the complete formula. We do not assume that every modern botanical was used in ancient Egypt.

Water-containing skincare needs an effective preservative system to help prevent microbial growth. We use an appropriate preservative in our Milk & Honey Foaming Cleanser; our anhydrous products have different preservation requirements.
